Quiet Lessons for the Introvert's Soul (the book's story)

Do you like to learn from true stories?
I do, and I learned a lot from the true stories shared by introverts in the book Quiet Lessons for the Introvert's Soul.

Where the book idea came from?

After publishing my first book (Introverts: Leverage Your Strengths for an Effective Job Search), I heard many people saying things like, “I don’t know if I’m an introvert or extrovert.” Or “Why should I care about this?”

So I started a new project: to interview eleven successful introverts at different stages of their careers.

Someone said that writing a book this way is easy. It isn’t. Introverts prefer privacy and aren’t quick to share their challenging personal stories with strangers ... unless there’s a meaningful reason!

Which I had: to help more people understand introverts and what they go through in a society that often expects them to act more like extroverts—although almost half of the population are introverts.

Quiet Lessons for the Introvert's Soul

My interviewees agreed to be part of this meaningful project, especially when they learned that their stories of struggle and success might inspire other introverts.

Since I always bring a self-reflection, coaching perspective to my books—so readers get more than just stories and strategies—I approached the book Quiet Lessons for the Introvert’s Soul the same way.

Although this book is based on those interviews with introverts, and I gave it a unique format:

  • Each chapter features an interview followed by a summary of the introvert strengths I spotted in the stories they shared.
  • Reading the book feels like you’re quietly sipping coffee or tea while hearing a meaningful conversations and stories from the next table.
  • The self-reflective part comes from the list of strengths from each chapter: it invites you to ponder how many you recognize in yourself, and how your life could improve if you use them more often.

What I didn't know at the beginning, writing this book helped me discover The Introvert's Hero Journey reflected in each of their stories.
